Stephanie thinks in trilogies. She likes writing — and reading — connected stories and series books because it gives the reader a sense of a big, broad world the characters inhabit. She’s put together character lists for her various series at the request of several readers who liked the idea of having a quick reference for characters whose stories span the course of several books.
Character lists and more will be added as new books are published. Below, you’ll find information about the order in which books should be read (though they all will stand alone), as well as links to specific series book extras, all in one place.
Stephanie currently has seven sets of works:
- The Mirror Series
- The Skulls Creek Series
- The Defiance Series
- The Section 8 Series
- The Eternal Wolf Clan Series
- The Shadow Force Series
- The Hard To Hold Series
- The Harlequin Blazes
- The Sydney Croft books
The Defiance series is a New Adult post apocalyptic motorcycle club book. I originally pitched it as Sons of Anarchy meets the apocalypse, and it deals with a struggle between the older and younger generation of the Defiance MC and their struggles to survive after a massive series of storms named the Chaos.
When Tru Tennyson snuck out of Defiance three and a half years earlier at the age of sixteen, she left behind her legacy as a motorcycle gang's princess and the man she thought she'd marry. Now, in a post-apocalyptic world of total darkness and anarchy, she's dragged back after refusing to bond with Padraic, the leader of a rival gang.
The darkness that descended on the world was referred to as the Chaos. The Chaos came after a massive, hybrid storm that took out power, destroyed cities, killed people. After the storm, the sun never came back out. It was total confusion, especially with communications cut off. There were millions who died, and many cities and states — and countries — unlivable. There were groups of populated areas that stuck together to rebuild. For safety. Defiance already held spots in the state and several beyond. Communication was tough but the gangs were used to long trips and spartan conditions.
In this new world, things are different for everyone. Mafia's and gangs like the MCs — motorcycle clubs — rule, and Silas's family holds one of the top spots. They survived because of their ability to fight and steal and do anything necessary to keep their power. The male dominated culture is set up to protect and defend its women and its property, and sex is regularly traded for power. And Tru finds herself sent back to her town, her first love…and the only man she might've wanted a future with.
Get Protected: The Dire Wolves
The Eternal Wolf Clan series focuses on the last six remaining Dire Wolves – Rifter, Stray, Vice, Jinx, Rogue and Harm are fierce warriors – and they’re also cursed with immortality. They’re bonded together after their Dire race was destroyed by the Elders. Now, they’re charged with helping to keep the Weres safe from the trappers—and keeping humans safe from all wolves. Each Dire Wolf has a glyph of their Brother Wolf on their back, and they also have a tribal wolf tattooed somewhere on their chest in honor of Rifter, their Dire King.
Stephanie co-wrote paranormal erotic romance under the name Sydney Croft with Larissa Ione for years, so writing paranormals came naturally. Stephanie had an idea about wolves—werewolves—for quite a while before she started the trilogy about a pack of immortal wolves. It has weres and a group called the weretrappers who want to use them for their own nefarious purposes. There are also witches and humans... and lots of alpha male goodness!
Stephanie's Romantic Suspense series, Section 8, involves military heroes, intrigue and action. The first book, Surrender, is set in New Orleans and the hero is Dare O'Rourke. More information will be posted here and on the blog.
This is a loose spin-off from the Hard to Hold trilogy. You meet the hero of Lie With Me, Cameron Moore, in Hold on Tight (Hard series, Book 3), and as the books unfold, you meet men on his Delta Force Team, CIA Agents and spooks, brothers and brothers in arms, Navy SEALs and more. It's a complicated world that delves deep into black ops - and how these men balance their jobs and their love lives.
Navy SEAL Jake Hansen's been around for a long time, taking over my blog and wooing readers with his alpha ways. Along with his brothers by adoption, Nick Devane and Chris Waldron, the men grew up rough and took on an even rougher job - they're Navy SEALs with a penchant for trouble. All the men carry deep, dark secrets - and these books center on the women they meet and eventually spill their secrets to. The series showcases the deep connection the brothers have with one another and their other SEAL teammates - it delves into their pasts and shows how that shaped the men they are today. I'd been waiting to write these books for a very long time - I'd emotionally connected with these characters and the followed me, waiting somewhat impatiently until I felt I was ready to tell their story.
Hard to Hold is Book 1 of the trilogy, and it focuses on Jake and Isabelle, a doctor he rescues in the African jungle. Both try hard to resist falling in love, and they find they're both powerless to stop it from happening, despite the fact that Isabelle's life is still in danger.
The three books center on Navy SEALs on the same team and the women they fall in love with. Lots of readers email me to ask if I'll ever write more (they especially want Rev's story) and while I do have an open invite to continue the series, right now I'm busily committed to my other projects! But I'll never say never to revisiting these men. (Want to make sure you know if it happens? Subscribe to my newsletter or blog RSS feed. Or like me on Facebook. Thanks!)
Coming Undone was my first published book - Hunt and Carly hold a very special place in my heart for that reason. Carly's a former pro-surfer who's scared to go back in the water. Hunt's a Navy SEAL bound and determined to help her succeed.
Category romance has a short shelf life in paperback and these books have gone out of print. Please enjoy the excerpts on each of the book pages and if you want to pick up a copy of your own, I've provided links to buy in ebook format or in print second-hand. Sydney Croft is my alter-ego. While Stephanie Tyler writes sexy Romantic Suspense and Paranormal Romance, Sydney writes Erotic Romance with a blend of paranormal / science fiction / paramilitary romantic suspense, based on the ACRO Agency – the Agency for Covert and Rare Operatives. Think, X-men meets erotica. Think, graphic sexual situations. Think, books I don’t let my mother read.
How did this writing duo come to be? Well, that's an interesting story. Sydney was born from Hurricane Katrina... (read more on my FAQ page!).
