We spent part of last week in Pittsburgh for the kid’s (planned) spinal surgery – and she’s doing wel.l (I can’t say that too much or the karma gods come down and wreak havoc so…) We’re just happy to be home and that our trees are back.
Tiny, tiny trees compared to what we had. *sobs* I need them to grow like 3 feet overnight because let me tell you – seeing my neighbor these last weeks has MORE than made up for the 10 years he was hidden behind trees. So yes, I talk to them a lot and tell them that’s what they need to do. I hope they listen better than Gus. Because Gus seems to act like that’s not his name. He must think, Man, that Gus must be a real pain in the ass because she’s always calling his name…
Anyway, Zane’s book revisions are done and Cam’s galleys are done (that’s pretty much my last step before it becomes a real book, so that’s good) – now I dive back into Mace’s book (I’m tentatively calling it In The Air Tonight but I don’t know if that will stick.) But I’m really loving it – I’ve been waiting a couple of years to write it and it’s all new and fun and shiny.
Which means, give me a few weeks and I’ll start whining for sure.
What’s up with everyone? Enjoying the weather? Any good news / fun news?

Steph: Great to hear the young one is doing well.:)
We had nice weather over Easter her, quite weekend.
“Gus, man, listen to your Mom there boy!” lol He is so darn cute, hard to get annoyed with him?
Also happy to hear about the trees, the neighbour sounds scary!
Good to see your post Steph.
Hey Lea!
I’m glad you had a nice Easter
We just hung out too and it was great just to be home and doing nothing….
Gus is way too cute for his own good.
Glad to hear your daughter is recovering. Pittsburgh has some great hospitals. Next time you need to go to Pgh, you should let me know. I live close and I could watch Gus for you. Tilly would love having a friend of the same breed!
I tell ya, there is something about the Weim they know when to ignore their name and when they should listen. Just like a teenager. There was a discussion on a forum about the infameous Weim yawn when they are being corrected. Someone summed it up nicely – fake yawn=screw you, I am not listening! What would we do without those Weims.
Maybe Gus can help “fertilize” the new trees to get them to grow faster!
Hi Becky!
I didn’t realize you were close – we got to Children’s Hosp of Pitts
So far we haven’t brought Gus because, um, yeah, he wouldn’t take too kindly to be holed up in the hotel room. You’re SO sweet to offer
Usually he stays home with my mom…but I’ll let you know when the next surgery is and who knows? Maybe Gus will take a road trip to meet Tilly
And OMG – that describes them perfectly – I said to Zoo, do you think we should get his hearing checked or something? Do you visit WeimaranerAddict.com? The pictures alone on there make me roar – they have a whole section titled, Wiemaraner Crimes…
Yep, I visit weimaraneraddict.com frequently! I am member and post often. I have learned sooo much from that site.
What do you think of the new Children’s Hospital? I haven’t been in it since they moved, but I have seen pictures and know others who have been there. Both of my children have been there and we have always had great care. I hope your daughter continues a speedy recovery.
Weim Addict is SO helpful – I always go search the archives!
The new Children’s Hosp is awesome – it’s really big and quiet and calm. And the patients rooms are all private, which is such a huge benefit. And they have some really nice touches, like a sibling playroom and big playrooms on most of the floors. I’m very impressed.
I too am antsy about the “karma gods”. After 4mths of adding “developmental disability” to ds’s paperwork… What part of Autism does not include a DD??? Sigh… We’re off to see a new classroom in a week to start next school year.. swore I’d never move him to spec ed… never, say never, eh??
Except for a VERY dry/warm winter/spring… so I’m not cursing too hard the rain we’re finally getting this week
Although I miss the warm sun of last week (yes, I know.. be careful what you wish for…) I’m looking forward to getting out and gardening.
Glad the surgery went well.
Sheri (Merism)
Hey Sheri!!! I didn’t connect you with the board last time I don’t think
You KNOW I hear you about the school crap. I’m cringing at the thought of my kid’s annual review coming up…
You know, I used to teach – and I get the whole least restrictive environment thing. But the problem is a lot of the co-teachers in that environment don’t have the training for it. Sometimes, you’re better off in the Special Ed classes, even if it’s only for a year or two. I hope it all works out in the least stressful way for you and your ds.
I still have my daughter at home because she’s in no way ready for any classroom. The school gets on me all the time but hey, it’s what’s best for her.
It’s 80 here today – I’m so not ready for that…
I’m glad things are going as well as they can with your daughter.
Hope the trees shoot up like Jack’s beanstalks! Well, maybe not THAT tall. But at least big enough to hide the scary neighbor.
Not a lot going on here. Loving the warmer temps. Hating my book. *g*
I would take Jack and the Beanstalk sized trees…seriously, he’s that bad.
Currently, I’m hating my book too! That took what, less than 24 hours? Excellent…
Glad to hear your daughter is doing well. Love that pic of Gus.
Thanks, Jane
And yes, Gus looks so innocent, doesn’t he?
glad your daughter is doing well. we are having amazing weather also. I wont complain after the two blizzards we got hit with
Thanks, Reese! And yes, I agree – we’ve had such awful weather in the space of 3 weeks that I need to just accept the heat…
Glad the surgery is over and she’s going well. Emotionally draining, I’m sure.
Paige submitted the book you blurbed… Now it’s just the waiting. Fingers crossed.
Our pup ran away and we spent 2 tearful, angst-filled nights thinking we wouldn’t get him back, but did.
Our friend Kendra Elliot (do you know her?) signed with her dream agent Jen Schrober (sp?) via her final in the GH this year. Things are happening very fast for her.
Elisabeth has been asked to write with two other RS authors for a Kensington work entitled Bodyguards in Bed . And Marked comes out in a couple weeks.
Hmmm…think that covers it…
It is, Joan, for sure!
And OMG – 1st, I’m so glad you got the pup back – talk about emotional – you must’ve been panicked!
And YAYAY on the book being out for submission – I’m crossing everything
:)
I don’t know if I know Kendra, but hey, that’s awesome news for her!
And Elisabeth’s doing so well – so more RS and more Paras too, I think, right, after these original three? AND a RITA nom. Girl’s on fire
:) It’s nice to see great things happen to great people…makes me think karma is working just fine…
