I guess at one point I used the expression, damn straight, skippy, around my mother. A conversation ensued in which my mother asked who this skippy was.
I tried to explain that it was just an expression (trust me, this took a while) and then she said, I’m going to start using it.
Except she couldn’t remember it. At least not correctly. So she’s been walking around, saying, suck it, smitty.
*shrugs* Maybe she’ll start a new trend.

That’s some funny shit!
I just try not to think about who she’s saying it to, you know?
LOL!!!
She scares me…might have to send her to your wayward SEAL home…
She can makes us all smoothies. *g*
OMG- she must be related to my mother. I’ve said things and then she tries to repeat it but gets it all wrong. It’s especially funny when its a swear phrase. Crazy.
Maria, we can never let them meet – can you imagine?!
OMG! LMAO. So wrong!
I know, Lillie, I know!
ROFLMAO!!!
R, am glad to give you a good laugh!
That is TOO funny. My poor husband can’t get a saying right for the life of him. It is funny to hear how he butchers a common saying. for example “The Grimm Reefer.” I aint joking. He doesnt do it on purpose.
OMG, Patty, that’s too funny!
heehee That is funny. I might wonder who she’s saying it to though.
Brandy, I’m scared to know…she probably walks around saying it under her breath to people – and she’s got one of those stage whispers, you know?
My mom has always called one baking item “confederate sugar.” As a kid I didn’t know it was wrong until I read the box one day and realized the real word was “confectioner’s.”
As I poured the confectioner’s sugar on the cupcakes last night, I had a good laugh about confederate sugar…:)
That is so something my mom would do!
You literally made me LOL!
Happy Halloween & Samhain!
~bella
LOL, Bella, I laugh every time I think about it! Hope your night was great!!
Laughing. So hard. Snorted… at my desk. Assistant = worried.
My mother’s mind is a scary place…
I am still laughing about this…
Heard someone say “skippy”. Memory was jogged. Had to look this back up. It’s STILL funny.
