things get in the way…

So, Zoo has tonsillitis and I’m hoping that the antibiotics work so he doesn’t have to have them out. Mainly because he’s telling me he won’t have them out until after his fishing trip at the end of April.

I’m guessing he doesn’t realize that he’s not going to have much of a choice.

So I’ve got that going on, coupled with several days in a row of no nursing for the kid.  Add in a book due soon, copy edits and two different sets of revisions and well, I might’ve just hyperventilated. Seriously.

If everyone would simply go to sleep at a decent hour and sleep through the night, I could make some real progress. Which brings me to my next point.

Okay, I personally do not like the Teletubbies. But the kid does. Loves them. Finds them soothing. They help her sleep.

And the DVDs are being discontinued.

We kill DVDs around here.  Mainly, because my daughter likes to grab and bite them and then, well, they don’t really work all that well. My mom’s been searching eBay for them but man, come on Teletubbie people – it’s so not right to pull the plug on these little dancing idiots.  Think of the children!

Delta ForceThink of the parents who can’t get their children to sleep.  Like me.  A sad parent with a pissed off Delta Force hero just waiting for me to get him out of trouble.  Or into it.

I’m going to have to start a, bring back the Teletubbies, club or something.

I’m betting Delta Force hero wouldn’t mind helping.  I’m imagining him marching into the Teletubbie offices (well, not offices with Teletubbies in them because that would just be silly.  And kind of funny) and demanding their secret stash of unsold videos.  Maybe I could send a team in on a covert mission to recapture the little dancing idiots.

What can I tell you – I’m desperate.

  1. Oh, God, when my daughter was little it was Barney. We had every video that was ever made, and she LOVED them. We had to do everything to a Barney tune…..Clean up, Clean up…..thought she’d never get out of that phase, but it made her happy, so………..

  2. I couldn’t do the Teletubbies and we lived in England at the time. So big over there. I forced Scooby Doo on my kids and they love it.

Good luck on the Dancing Idiots replacement program.

  3. well, not offices with Teletubbies in them because that would just be silly. And kind of funny

Sounds really CREEPY to me. *g*

But I would love see your Delta Force hero liberate those DVDs for you!

  4. *shudders at Barney* Melissa, we’ve avoided the purple monster…not that teletubbies are any better but they don’t really talk much.

Brandy – my favorite part of the videos are the little kids with the British accents! I used to love Scooby Doo…I could try. My child is very stubborn tho – I think she gets it from Larissa. ;)

    Me too, Tori!!!

  5. Barnes & Noble has teletubbies on audio cds, at least she could listen to them as she falls asleep. You might also try a DVD store, like Movie Stop, they might have some.

  6. It sounds like you’re going to have to find something to wean her over to, so the sooner the better to begin experimenting. Does your library have DVDs you can check out to see what might work before you have to buy anything?

  7. Oh, and I LOVE the photo of you and Gus. I usually read on Bloglines, so I miss the visual for the site. In fact, this whole site design is beautiful — not sure how long you’ve had it, but I figured I should mention it.

  8. Brandy – I’ll give Blues Clues a try!

    Thanks for than info, Ann!!!

Jean, they do…I’ll have to forage. Or maybe I can download a few different clips of shows as well to test them out…oh, and thanks for the website compliments! It’s very new – about 2 weeks old or so :)
