all kinds of headaches

Spent most of the day nursing the migraine and on the phone with Dell, trying to figure out why I can’t download songs from musicmatch jukebox. Something about play rights and corrupt software and wiping out the operating system and will someone please smack me if I ever talk about buying another Dell computer ever again? (yes, Larissa, I know you’re raising your hand for the honors.) So yes, headaches on top of headaches.

I tried Yahoo Music Engine as well – I keep getting pop-ups that say things like ‘fatal exception.’ Which I’m imagining is not a good thing.

I really want the song, Blue on Black, which is where the whole problem started.

Blue on black
Tears on a river
Push on shove
Don’t mean much
Joker on Jack
Match on a fire
Cold on ice
A dead man’s touch
Whisper on a scream
Doesn’t mean a thing
Won’t bring you back
Blue on black

It’s been stuck in my head lately, and I know there’s a character in there calling me, which means I’ve got to play it over and over again until the idea formulates. So I’ve paid for the download three times and still, no song.

And I really need to get some writing done. Like, right now.

  1. …it’s like she knew I was still screwing around and procrastinating…

    *grumbles* “I’m going…I’m going…”

  2. FWIW, if you have Win Media player, you can DL the song from Walmart.com for 88 cents. It should play right there in Media Player. If you still want it and haven’t chucked the CPU through the window yet of course…

…don’t worry. You don’t know me. LOL I just lurk and decided to de-lurk today

  3. *throws out invisible shield so Michelle doesn’t see me here*

Hi Kat! Thanks for delurking *g* I do have WinMedia, but I think there’s something wrong with my dfm file or something that’s going to stop anything from downloading…but hey, I’m game. I need that song. Keep your fingers crossed.

  4. I’m on my fourth Dell and I’ve never had a problem with them. Compaq is another story completely. I use iTunes to download songs since I have an iPod. I do find MusicMatch a pain in the butt to work with and they always want me to upgrade.

Anyway, this is all for naught because you should be writing instead.

  5. I have moments like that where I MUST HAVE A CERTAIN SONG NOW. And my iTunes is screwed up currently, so all my moments have gone unsatisfied.

I won’t mention anything about you needing to write. I think that’s been covered.

  6. I have this theory that computers and cars that are built on Monday mornings and on Fridays are always the suckiest pieces of crap in creation.

Hugs on the migraine, Steph, and the song not downloading. But gotta say, I’m with everyone else. GO WRITE.

Yeah, yeah, yeah. Do as I say, not as I do.

  7. Ah Rene – you gave me a great idea though – I wonder if I could just download right to my Dell MP3 player! See, it’s going to be all your fault that I’m going to procrastinate more!

    Emma – I was taught to share.

Amy – *sigh* my twin. And yes, let’s not mention the writing…

Larissa, how did I know you’d be happy to volunteer?

Tori – I like your theory and thanks for the hugs! Writing? that’s crazy talk….

  8. I quit on Dells once they outsourced their “technical help” to where you can’t understand a word they are saying. Or you pay big $$$ to get English speaking help. I mean, what’s up with that??

It used to be that all I had was Dell computers. I guess they don’t miss me…
